Looking for a
Krillion alternative?

If you enjoy the Krillion game’s search for rare answers, Rare Dive offers an independent take on open-category trivia. There are no letter grids or multiple-choice buttons. A prompt asks for a member of a category, and you decide which answer to bring to the surface.

This is Rare Dive’s own daily challenge, with original questions and its own scores. To play the original Krillion Daily Dive, visit krillion.io. For an introduction to the original and a comparison with this game, read our Krillion guide.

The catch is familiarity. An obvious answer still counts, but an unexpected answer from our curated list earns more. Each of seven questions gives you 25 seconds. Unaccepted attempts leave you free to try again while the clock runs. You can also pass and move on.

Our question bank is original: 98 categories covering nature, geography, food, science, culture, design, and everyday life. Every category has at least 24 standard answers plus selected aliases. The six score bands are editorial judgments, fixed in advance so the same answer earns the same score for everyone. A rare score here is a playful rating, rather than a claim about how many people know something.

Daily gives everyone the same seven categories on the same UTC date, with a new set at midnight UTC. Your browser remembers an unfinished dive, your best score, and your daily streak. A completed Daily stays completed on this device for that date. Want another go right away? Try our free Krillion-inspired Unlimited mode whenever curiosity strikes.

You don’t need to register, pay, or watch an ad. The game runs in your browser, and scores stay on your device. Share a spoiler-free result with friends, compare depths, and come back tomorrow with a fresh mind. For the scoring table and matching details, visit Rare Dive’s rules and scoring, or try our short guide to thinking beyond your first answer.

STILL FEELING CURIOUS?

The ocean doesn’t have a daily limit.

Same seven-question adventure. As many fresh starts as you like.

What is Rare Dive?

Rare Dive is a free category trivia game inspired by the Krillion game format. Answer seven open-ended prompts and earn more points for less familiar answers. It has its own original question bank and is not affiliated with krillion.io.

Is Rare Dive the official Krillion game?

No. The original game is at krillion.io. Rare Dive is an independent Krillion-inspired alternative with its own questions, answer lists, editorial scores, and Daily schedule. Your results here are separate from the original game.

Can I play a free Krillion Unlimited alternative here?

Yes. Rare Dive Unlimited offers repeatable seven-question trivia rounds with no daily limit, ads, payment, or sign-in. It uses our original 98-category bank. For the original Krillion Unlimited mode and its current access options, visit krillion.io.

How are answers scored?

Accepted answers have one of six editor-assigned scores: 10, 15, 30, 60, 85, or 100. Each point adds 10 meters of depth. Seven 100-point answers make a perfect 700 points, or 7,000 meters. These are editorial ratings, not live player popularity percentages.
